MY HOMEOPATHIC TREATMENT

The first major feature of my Homeopathic Treatment is the Indivualization for Treatment Determination. This means that different people may have different pathogenic reasons, symptoms and syndromes even though the disease name is the same, so treatment strategies and formulas are different. So different treatment strategies will be used according to the different causative factors.

The other major principle is Totality for Treatment Determination. This means that in all Diseases the whole organism suffers, even if organ pathology is conventionally recognized in a certain organ or part of the body. So,treatment should be applied for both the diseased organ or part of the body and for the totality of all current sufferings all over the body.

Modern Homeopathy should care equally

for both the Patient and the Disease.

Homeopathic Remedies FAQ-Frequently Asked Questions

PRINCIPLES OF HOMEOPATHIC MEDICINE

The first major feature of Homeopathic medicine is the Indivualization for Treatment Determination. This means that different people may have different pathogenic reasons, symptoms and syndromes even though the disease name is the same, so treatment strategies and formulas are different. For example, the "headache" can be caused by external factors, such as wind, cold, damp, dryness and/or internal factors, such as metabolic deficiencies, blood stasis, liver disorders, emotional /mental /psychosomatic imbalances, etc. So different treatment strategies will be used according to the different causative factors.Homeopathic medicine considers essentially relevant to patient personal/social/environmental data, such as age, gender, work, living environment, emotional feelings, mood, stress, climate, habits, favored foods, etc.

The total sum of the present symptoms, functional dsturbances and pathologic lesions of the organism expresses the current model of the health defence mechanisms of the body, which is the most critical factor for the outcome of the  pathology of the certain organ or part of the body. So,modern Homeopathy should care equally for both the Patient and the Disease.

In all forms of Holistic and Natural Medicine ,and especially with Homeopathy, health disorders and diseases are seen as a way for the body and the mind to show an inner  disturbance and, mainly, as the way to restore  functional economy and integrity ,to restore health  through self-cure procedures. The wisdom of the body will ensure that symptoms affect the least critical area, and that emotions can be re-balanced through the body’s physical processes. For this reason, the deeper or more important the affected organs, the more serious the issue.

When Clinical Homeopathy is applied in a case with a certain disease or health condition, the body does not heal in a haphazard, accidental way, but according to a deep biological intelligence. A true healing process will mirror the body’s own healing strategies. It is important  to understand and help the way our mind and body heal themselves.

The healing process can broadly be divided into five stages. For some cases, the focus is only needed in one or two stages, but in others, the healing process will require all five. Depending on the individual and the situation, each stage will be best done one-by-one but sometimes several stages can be achieved simultaneously.

1. Symptom Relief

What drives most patients to a health practitioner is relief from some kind of pain, discomfort or lack of freedom on a physical or psychological level. All systems of medicine are involved with alleviating these symptoms. While, this is the primary focus of conventional medicine, holistic treatment such as homeopathy will also seek to unravel deeper causes and promote lasting changes in your level of health.

2. Revitalisation

As the body has devoted parts of its energy to eliminate an illness, there is usually a loss in vitality and internal resources suffered by the individual. In order to have an effective response, it is important to ensure that the body has the right nutrients and resources to promote health. This is often overlooked by conventional medicine and also many holistic practitioners. Providing homeopathic remediesm, that improve the assimilation of nutrients and offer support to a sick body, will help with the recovery.

3. Detoxification

Very often, the body cannot function properly if there are high levels of damaging toxins or free radicals(like products of deteriorated metabolism) within the lymphatic system or at an organ, a  tissue or at the cellular level. Toxins are often found at an area where disease occurs or has occurred. Toxins can be external (virus, metals, chemicals) or internal accumulations of the body’s own by-products. These wastes slowly and inexorably weaken the organism on all levels, generating both chronic disease states and acute illness. Clearing debris from cells, tissues and organs relieves the body of a tremendous burden and allow the body to work as it should.

4. Regeneration

Once vitality is enhanced and toxin levels have reduced, weakened or damaged  tissues can be regenerated. This is about pure repair and its extent and duration depends on the nature, duration and location of illness.

5. Lifestyle Change

When the individual has regained strength, healing is almost complete. Yet, there is a crucial next step. Pattern change is about changing and retaining lifestyle, habits and pre dispositions that have an impact on illness and health. While often overlooked, this level is critical if the individual wants to realise the full potential of his or her life.

As you can see, a natural approach to health is not a straight “take a pill” approach. For this reason, healing should take a reasonable time and improvement may appear  gradual at the beginning.

Homeopathy is a system of medicine founded on the  definite law ‘like cures like’,first founded by Hippocrates. The word Homeopathy is certainly of Greek derivation where ‘homeos’ means ‘similar’ and pathos means ‘suffering’. So Homeopathy may be defined as the therapeutic method of symptom-similarity.According to this system, the choice of the medicine is fundamentally based on the principle that the medicine must be specifically suitable (‘similar”)to the symptoms and the pathology of the disease to be cured in each one individual case.

The specifically suitable  Homeopathic remedies for any individual case are found after thoroughl case study and analysis ,so that the cause, the pathogenesis, the kind, the location, the extention, etc of  Health disorders are revealed , recorded and correlated with the detailed description of the therapeutic action of Homoeopathic Remedies in HOMOEOPATHIC PHARMACOLOGY.Each one remedy is described in Homoeopathic Pharmacologies in detail concerning its elective action on organs, tissues, organic systems, functions, etc of the Human Body.

The suitability of a medicine for any given case does not depend on its accurate homeopathic selection alone, but likewise on the proper size of dose too. Under this principle we give medicine to the patients in very minute or infinitesimal doses. The quantity is minimum, yet appropriate and sufficient, for an efficient and  gentle remedial effect, which is of biophysical informational nature. This concept of minimum or infinitesmall dose is completed by a practical process called potentisation, through which the therapeutic information is imprinted on water molecules. These morphologically altered water molecules are the active component of the sugar pills  of homeopathic treatment, which are placed  under the tongue.

Treatment by infinitesmall doses is also consistent with the Arndt-Schultz Law in Clinical Pharmacology and the Law of Least Action, formulated by Maupertius, the French mathematician, : “The quantity of action necessary to affect any change in nature is the least possible, the decisive amount is always a minimum, an infinitesimal.”Health is a matter of perfect equilibrium, perfect balance, trifling circumstances may sway it, and may be balanced by the least possible in medication.

Clinical Homeopathy

Clinical homeopathy is synonymous with classical homeopathy, for Hahnemann and his followers were clinicians, they treated the sickest patients, and they addressed pathological signs and symptoms.

While all homeopathic physicians agree, in principle, to the same basic principles, so that homeopathy may seem unified and clear, nevertheless, there are as many styles of practicing homeopathy as there are prominent teachers and practitioners. Some of these approaches appear to be based on rational thinking and mechanistic models; others are more intuitive and “relational”.

Clinical Homeopathy is Lit. physician’s homeopathy. Clinical Homeopathy is directed towards to both the specific pathological conditions  and the total health deteriorations of the patient, the so called “totality”. Like herbs, homeopathic remedies have certain ‘preferences’ towards certain organs; many remedies in Clinical Homeopathy are used to treat these organs. Clinical Homeopathy is indeed the kind of Homeopathy preferred by most mainstream physicians worldwide when they are using homeopathy.Clinical Homeopathy is the Classical Homeopathy along the origininal and classic teachings and applications of Hahnemann, the modern founder of Homeopathy.Yet the term “Classical Homeopathy” is also reserved by those Homeopaths that  follow the Kentian style focusing on the “constitution”,that is the mental, emotional and physiological characteristics of patients, leaving pathology aside.

Hahnemann certainly perceived, examined, and aimed both to cure pathological findings and conditions and treat the entire imbalance of the patient, the “totality”,just like Clinical Homeopathy does.  In fact, if we consider Hahnemann as the most prominent homeopath, it is clear that he saw pathology and totality as the most important components of treatment. Hahnemann  didn’t neglect at all local pathology; he included it ,as the most basical component,in the totality of the clinical picture of each one patient. So, the tendency of many “classical” homeopaths to neglect pathology is in contrary to Hahnemann’s teachings. This emphasis of Hahnemann on physical pathology is confirmed in paragraph 192 of Organon, where he writes: “….in articulating the disease case, one simultaneously unites the exact constitution of the local suffering(the pathology) with all the noticeable alterations, ailments and symptoms in the rest of the condition…”. (Hahnemann, 1842/1996)

This was also the case with other important homeopaths who included pathology in the selection of their remedies. We know well that Dr. Kunzli, a Classical Homeopath who edited “Kent’s Repertorium Generale,” added the “red dots” to symptoms or remedies that he confirmed in his clinical practice. The remedies in such rubrics “underscores the therapeutic importance of the rubric and often points directly to the remedy. A dot after a remedy indicated the proven efficacy of the remedy in that condition. Many of those rubrics are local and pathological symptoms, such as: dandruff, stricture of the lachrymal duct, recurrent styes, cracks in the lips, etc. The Repertory of Kent itself includes many rubrics with direct connection with many diseases, including tumors and cancer.

An example of how patients require such inclusive clinical methodology is the work by Boenninghausen, Burnett, Hughes, Dunham and other famous homeopaths ,who also followed this practice. Dr. Ramakrishnan has used this approach on patients with cancer He has found that patients respond best to remedies that have particular affinity for the affected organs, while at the same time following the basic homeopathic principles, the totality of symptoms, the similar remedy, and the minimum dose. We should also remember that all of the original provings, recorded in the homeopathic materia medica, from Hahnemann’s Materia Medica Pura to Clark, were done with the low potencies, like those often used in Clinical Homeopathy.

There should not be a dogmatic line between considering pathology or considering the totality, between studying a remedy either for its whole effect or for a preferred local tendency, or between high potency and low. Great homeopaths such as Boenninghausen and Boger seemed able to consider and utilize both of these aspects of the patient and a remedy; so can we. As long as we are following the basic principles of homeopathy as established by Hahnemann in his Organon, it might be best to select the appropriate potency, etc  for any individual patients under the individual circumstances of the health conditions and diseases.

High potency, high-medium potency, “classical” and “clinical homeopathy”, likely should follow the same kind of basic homeopathic tenets (some homeopaths may not follow each and every principle of homeopathic practice, according to Hahnemann. These are: the principle of similarity, the totality of symptoms ,the pathology and the minimum dose. They can all be considered within the “circle” of true homeopathy.

Actually, “clinic” is a term derived from Greek and indicating “of or pertaining to a bed”. It means: “one who is confined to bed by sickness or infirmity”. It also denotes the teaching of medical sciences, and the specialized care of patients, particularly those bedridden. So, we can determine that clinical homeopathy is not necessarily a different kind of homeopathy but rather a distinction of who practices it, those trained to treat the most sick patients, like medical doctors, who are mainly involved  in cases where pathology is the most essential part part of the total picture.

Homeopathy has been built on experience and observation; Hahnemann was a pioneer in the emergence of clinical concepts, clinical observation, and treatment. These tenets and practices of homeopathy should be an integral part of today’s homeopathic medicine. In the history of homeopathy, nearly all of its discoveries and innovations have come from practicing physicians. We can say that the method for prescribing homeopathic drugs, researching homeopathic drugs, and studying homeopathic medicine is clinical in its essence.

The therapeutic indications found in the homeopathic Materia Medicas (textbooks of Homeopathic Pharmacology) are clinical in nature, in the service of treating the ill. These observations are reliable and have been confirmed in practice. Many of their observations are consistent with current medical knowledge and offer possibilities not achievable with other more conventional therapeutics, and certainly are deprived of any side effects and/or iatrogenic diseases.

Seen in this way, it is not difficult to understand that the clinical, and symptoms guiding the prescription of homeopathic drugs are not just limited to those of local tissue disorganization, but include all signs uncovered during the clinical observation, including those arising from the patient’s individual reactions and those describing their characteristics and background, aside from the disease. This is what is considered constitutional; therefore, clinical homeopathy is not limited to prescribing for local pathology alone.

Homeopathic teaching should be based on respect of medical science: the meticulous observation of diseases and patients, which is clinical observation, as a priority. These are the basis for the further development and update of the homeopathic materia medica, which is the basic instrument of the homeopathic practitioner.

Clinical homeopathy is synonymous with classical homeopathy, for Hahnemann and his followers were clinicians, they treated the sickest patients, and they addressed pathological signs and symptoms.

CLASSIC HOMEOPATHY IN THE TRADITIONAL AND MODERN HEALTH AND DISEASE CONCEPTION

Homeopathy is a system of medical therapy that uses information of biophysical nature and/or very small (infinitesimal) doses of medicines or remedies that are hardly traced even by most modern technology. These remedies are usually prepared from substances found in nature. Because the remedies are highly diluted, usually to the point that no traceable molecules exist ,they are extremely safe. The clinical experience of homeopathy shows  that the micro-dosing /biophysical information approach to diseases is effective. There are literally hundreds of high quality, published basic science, pre-clinical and clinical studies showing that homeopathy works. If someone searches in PubMed, a renowned Medical Literature Record, with the key word “homeopathy”, about 5.000 of publications in medical journals appear; therefore no one may claim that there is not accessible and reliable medical information or that there is no place for Homeopathy in the space of Scientific Evidence.

Homeopathic Remedies are carriers of pharmacological information biophysically imprinted on water molecules contained in your homeopathic "sugar pills or tablets".This information is reminiscent of the digital information of computers' technology, with which modern societies are too familiar.

Since homeopathic remedies are devoid of any chemical toxicity, homeopathy is the ideal system of medicine for people of all age. Homeopathy has long been established as mainstream medicine in the NHS (National Health System) of many countries. However in the USA today, Homeopathy is hardly even included in the so called ‘Integrative Medicine’ as applied in many renowned Health Care Units, and is ‘frozen out’ by pretending ignorance of the subject; but prior to 1925 many Homeopathic Hospitals were actively and successfully engaged in the US  Health System. Why then is Homeopathy faced with such unreasonable rivalry in US?

In the European Union (EU) the whole health policy looks a bit better.

In the UK it is estimated that Homeopathy is growing 20% each year; it has been enrolled in the National Health System through an Act of Parliament from 1950 to the present.

The Swiss government has a long and widely-respected history of neutrality, and therefore, reports from this government on controversial subjects need to be taken more seriously than other reports from countries that are more strongly influenced by present economic and political constituencies. When one considers that two of the top five largest drug companies in the world have their headquarters in Switzerland, one might assume that this country would have a heavy interest in and bias toward conventional medicine, but such assumptions would be wrong.

In late 2011, the Swiss government's report on homeopathic medicine represents the most comprehensive evaluation of homeopathic medicine ever written by a government and was just published in book form in English. This breakthrough report affirmed that homeopathic treatment is both effective and cost-effective and that homeopathic treatment should be reimbursed by Switzerland's national health insurance program.

The Swiss government's inquiry into homeopathy and complementary and alternative (CAM) treatments resulted from the high demand and widespread use of alternatives to conventional medicine in Switzerland, not only from consumers but from physicians as well. Approximately half of the Swiss population have used CAM treatments and value them. Further, about half of Swiss physicians consider CAM treatments to be effective. Perhaps most significantly, 85 percent of the Swiss population wants CAM therapies to be a part of their country's health insurance program. It is therefore not surprising that more than 50 percent of the Swiss population surveyed prefer a hospital that provides CAM treatments rather to one that is limited to conventional medical care.

Beginning in 1998, the government of Switzerland decided to broaden its national health insurance to include certain complementary and alternative medicines, including homeopathic medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, herbal medicine, anthroposophic medicine, and neural therapy. This reimbursement was provisional while the Swiss government commissioned an extensive study on these treatments to determine if they were effective and cost-effective. The provisional reimbursement for these alternative treatments ended in 2005, but as a result of this new study, the Swiss government's health insurance program once again began to reimburse for homeopathy and selective alternative treatments. In fact, as a result of a national referendum in which more than two-thirds of voters supported the inclusion of homeopathic and select alternative medicines in Switzerland's national health care insurance program, the field of complementary and alternative medicine has become a part of this government's constitution.
